"You're the best at it. We are super thankful to have been referred to you. You made us feel that breastfeeding was possible through our rough start. It's now been 8 months and out of my entire medical experience you are the one I will remember always. Thank you." ~ Jessica When I heard tongue tie and knowing that the hospital was not being supportive of me trying to breast feed, I felt alone, scared, and stressed out. I had never seen or dealt with a tongue tie and this was my first born. However, the hospital and doctor that clipped the tongue tie gave me not much information, but the number to call Shari. Shari helped normalize the situation, made me feel confident, gave gentle support, and with her guidance I was able to breastfeed my daughter. She also helped my husband get involved. I do not remember any doctors, nurses, or feel like I had the best experience with the birth of my first child in the hospital, but I do appreciate the referral and the work Shari provided for my family. My favorite part of her services is that she continues to provide education, support, and help. Thank you. You will forever be in out hearts. You get A+ and Highly recommended from us. ~The Vega Family Thanks to you and Dr Chelf, Violet has been nursing exclusively for almost 6 months now. It’s definitely my favorite part of every day. I could never thank you enough for your guidance and support. ~ Danielle I want to start off by saying thank you. When my son was born 3 years ago at Pomerado hospital, you helped me get through a very hard time trying to breast feed my son. You left me the sweetest message that gave me the courage to stick with it and I ended up breastfeeding my son for a whole year. So here I am 3 years later, with my 3 year old son, and one more on the way! The experience I had with you inspired me. I want to help mothers in the way that you helped me. ~ Saige Shari you were worth every penny!!! ~ Alejandra The precious time you have given me while nursing Violet is completely priceless ~ Danielle Hi Shari, I write to you as Makayla is laying on me nursing to sleep :)) I just wanted to write you and let you know how grateful I am for all of your help with breastfeeding. You were such a life saver and I'm so happy that I stuck with it because it is such a joy to breastfeed Makayla. I feel so lucky that I met you because without you I would not be experiencing the amazing joys of nurturing my baby. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I enjoy breastfeeding so much and it's so neat to say to Makayla do you want to nurse and she crawls over sits in my lap and lays down. I also enjoy nursing her to sleep for naps and for bedtime. The other day we were taking a shower and she wanted to nurse and so we nursed and then she feel asleep in the shower nursing. I just stood there for like 20 minutes until she woke up and enjoyed my beautiful baby. I have so many wonderful nursing memories and I can't imagine what my life would be like if I was not able to nurse so again thank you so much for saving my nursing relationship. Thanks again ~ Stacey Shari- I wanted to thank you for helping me reach my goal of nursing Violet for at least a year. You were so instrumental in identifying our issues and helping us resolve them. You gave me such an amazing gift and I am grateful for you every day. ~ Danielle Yes, you are one of those LC's that actually helped out greatly with your huge knowledge of all things breastfeeding. I am grateful you got us through the rough patch, otherwise, I most likely would have given up and went with the bottle, and poor little Aidan would have gone on with his torticollis, tongue tie, and plagiocephaology for who knows how long, if not forever, so you hold a very dear place in our heart for all you have done. Breastfeeding used to be so frustrating for me when he would goof around or take little interest, but instead, I now know what it feels like to have that nurturing bond that women talk about. Plus I love how he oftentimes looks so lovingly into my eyes when he's on breast. ~ At 5 months, our son decided to 'quit' breastfeeding and preferred expressed milk via a bottle. Prior to seeing Shari, we saw three other lactation consultations; with no progress...no one was able to figure out from birth why he would not latch on and breastfeed. Shari is amazing, she figured out he was tongue tied, and had torticollis, plagiocephology as well as birth trauma.... everything even our pediatrician missed. She has an incredible team of healthcare practitioners to help us resolve this. We quickly worked on getting him back on the breast. I first met Shari at one of her regular Breastfeeding Q&A’s at Babies by the Sea. Shari then consulted with us when my son was 5 days old. I felt he had a shallow latch and was starting to have some pain, and knew we needed to get some help before the situation got any worse. She was great with us- she really helped with latching on and making breastfeeding more comfortable and efficient for both of us.
